Avolta advises VoltR on its €22M fundraising from Bpifrance and Décathlon Pulse

Avolta acted as exclusive financial advisor to VoltR, a French pioneer in lithium battery remanufacturing, on its €22m financing package, comprising €16m in equity from Bpifrance’s SPI 2 Fund and Decathlon PULSE and €6m in Première Usine grants.

This milestone will accelerate VoltR’s industrial scale-up and European expansion, supporting the development of a circular battery value chain and strengthening European industrial sovereignty.

VoltR

Founded in 2023, VoltR is a French pioneer in lithium battery remanufacturing. Its integrated process spans used battery collection, cell diagnostics and the production of new, eco-designed batteries. Cells are assessed and repurposed according to their residual performance to manufacture batteries meeting the same performance and certification requirements as conventional batteries.

With over 20,000 batteries brought to market, VoltR serves applications including power tools, micromobility, home automation, smart cities and mobile energy storage. Its model extends the useful life of lithium cells before recycling, reducing environmental impact and reliance on imported cells.
Based in Verrières-en-Anjou, France, VoltR employs around 40 people and aims to build a European circular battery value chain, combining local manufacturing with greater industrial sovereignty.

Transaction rationale

The €22m financing package combines €16m in equity from Bpifrance’s SPI 2 Fund, managed on behalf of the French State under France 2030, and Decathlon PULSE, with €6m in Première Usine grants. It will support factory expansion, production automation, cell diagnostic and repurposing technologies, and a dedicated battery storage facility.

VoltR aims to double its factory footprint, increase production capacity sixfold and create around 40 jobs within two years. Combining Bpifrance’s industrial expertise with Decathlon PULSE’s understanding of end markets, the transaction will accelerate VoltR’s industrial rollout and European expansion.
