With more than 30 years experience in public policy and ecological transformation of the economy, François de Rugy is the former French Minister of Ecological and Inclusive Transition. He joined the Alantra and Avolta partnership as a Senior Advisor in 2022. 

While serving as Deputy Mayor of Nantes, François was elected to the French National Assembly in 2007 and re-elected for three consecutive terms. During his mandate, he was president of the French Ecologist Party group, then became president of the National Assembly between 2017 and 2018. Under the presidency of Emmanuel Macron, he joined the government in 2018, as Minister for Ecological Transition. François notably led the charge in a major energy-climate law adopted in November 2019 and has co-authored a law to reduce waste and promote the circular economy. François ended his political career to cover the growing sustainability sector at Alantra and Avolta.
